Field Technician, Roofing
Primary Function:
Responsible for collecting data & gathering information or documents; Observe Construction activities (FQA); Perform evaluations & work under the supervision of managerial staff.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor project scope and manpower requirements/fees, including review of job status reports.
· Contact with Client—coordinate information and communications between Owner and team, review scope changes, review Contractor invoices, and work with responsible director for fee billings.
· Maintain and coordinate project files.
· Follow applicable guidelines as listed in the Quality Manual.
· Use of reprographic and office equipment, including scan and copy machines.
· Assist marketing team in proposal development, including project manpower requirements, team, scope, schedule, contracts, and interviews.
· Complete assignments efficiently in a timely and complete manner as required by the project and/or supervisor.
· Represent the firm in a professional manner and follow Quality Manual guidelines
· Continuing education to improve technical knowledge/skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals, and other resources.
· Perform miscellaneous corporate projects, as assigned.
· All other duties as apparent or assigned.
· Support the Project Manager while performing the following techniques and procedures:
1. Evaluation Phase:
· Client interview
· Infrared survey – StructureScanTM
· Tramex, material testing
· Test cuts – moisture probe
· Evaluation rating system
2. Design Development:
· System designs/material selection
· Client interaction
· Detail design
3. Construction Review and Administration/Support Field Operations:
· Site construction visits and progress reports
· Coordinate site visits
· Monitor time on project or budget
· Write field reports and progress reports for all visits and meetings (expertly/ technically)
· Client contact interaction/review
· Support preconstruction meetings, progress meetings (attendance and coordination)
4. Maintenance Program:
· Monitor maintenance repairs and projects
Qualifications:
· Pursuing degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, Construction Management, or related post high school training preferred.
· Desire to pursue continuing education and certification programs (CSI, RCI, RIEI, NRCA).
· Willingness to contribute to a teamwork-oriented environment.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Good communication skills (both oral & written) to effectively work with Clients from beginning design to post construction.
· Non-degreed persons must have 2-6 years prior industry project management experience with a minimum of 5 years industry experience.
· Testing:
· Non-Destructive Testing – must be familiar with Tramex leak seeker and other similar equipment.
· Destructive Testing – must have skills needed to successfully accomplish testing, such as moisture probes and test cuts.
· Knowledge of project management process as it relates to the business.
· Knowledge in construction, such as industry standards, materials, codes, contracts, bidding processes, etc.
· Knowledge in Q.C. /Q.A. standards of StructureTec.
· Knowledge and experience in field inspection.
· Skills to write technical reports and letters.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
