Café Line Cook

Strossner’s Bakery is hiring a line cook for our café. Our café features an open kitchen where food is prepared to order and team members interact directly with customers. We’re looking for someone dependable, organized, and friendly who takes pride in preparing quality food and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook café menu items to order, following recipes and presentation standards.
• Prepare ingredients for daily service, including cutting fruit and slicing and portioning meats and cheeses.
• Read order tickets carefully and complete orders accurately and efficiently.
• Greet customers, hand out completed orders, and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Prepare tea and keep beverage and service areas stocked and clean.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and temperatures.
• Properly handle, label, store, and rotate ingredients and prepared foods.
• Maintain a clean and organized open kitchen and food preparation area.
• Clean café tables and maintain a welcoming dining area.
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, and assist with daily cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate with team members to keep service running smoothly.
• Assist with additional café duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Reliable transpirtation
• Previous line cook or food preparation experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions, and order tickets accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple orders while maintaining food quality and accuracy.
• Friendly, professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in an active kitchen environment.
