Job Purpose: The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes across all areas of production. The Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot existing process, develop new product lines, reduce scrap, and drive efficiency in our operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, design, implement efficient processes to improve overall operational performance.
- Work closely with operational departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Implement and lead initiatives to optimize existing processes and increase throughput.
- Champion new product development from cradle to grave, including quotes, composite design, bill of material structure, tooling, first article, control plans, and product launch.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure processes meet quality standards.
- Analyze data of processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of projects, processes, and procedures.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or composite engineering.
- Composite industry experience with pultrusion experience is a plus.
- Creative technical aptitude.
- Keen desire to learn a unique and growing manufacturing process.
- Hands-on capabilities with an understanding of best manufacturing processes.
- Ability to analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements and waste reduction efforts.
- Investigate and resolve production related problems.
- Work with development teams to investigate new processes.
- Exceptional project and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively foster relationships and communicate with team members at all levels within the facility.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- Physical requirements may include some lifting, squatting, walking, and long periods of standing.
- Split time between office and manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing environment will include exposure to moving machinery, fiberglass, fumes, and chemicals.
Salary : $62,000 - $65,000
