Overview
Stronghold Contracting Group is a multi state telecommunications and fiber construction company seeking an experienced Safety and Fleet Manager to lead our environmental health and safety program and manage our vehicle and equipment fleet across active operations. This is a working manager position for someone who is comfortable spending significant time in the field as well as managing programs from the office. You will own SCG's safety management system from the ground up, including policies, training, audits, and OSHA compliance, while also managing the company's fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve SCG's safety management system, including policies, procedures, training programs, and audit protocols.
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, client specific safety requirements, and applicable state regulations across all active field operations.
Conduct regular field safety audits, document findings, and require corrective action from Construction Managers and field supervisors.
Lead OSHA recordkeeping including OSHA 300 log maintenance, incident recording determinations, and annual summary posting.
Manage SCG's ISNetworld contractor qualification profile.
Lead workplace injury, illness, and near miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action.
Coordinate post incident drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy and state requirements.
Develop and deliver safety training covering OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, PPE, and SCG specific standards.
Manage OSHA 10 Hour and 30 Hour training programs and track certification currency.
Manage SCG's vehicle and equipment fleet, including maintenance scheduling, registration and title management, and disposal of aged assets.
Administer the driver qualification program, including MVR monitoring and driving record review.
Manage fuel card programs, fleet tracking systems, and vehicle use policy compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS and safety management experience in construction, utility, or field operations.
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards, workers compensation processes, and incident investigation methodology.
OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification required. OSHA 500 or CSP preferred.
Experience managing an ISNetworld contractor safety qualification profile.
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory MVR.
Ability to pass a pre employment background check and drug screen.
Certified Safety Professional or Associate Safety Professional credential preferred.
Experience managing fleet operations for a multi state construction or field services company preferred.
Familiarity with DOT fleet compliance requirements preferred.
Additional Details
Full time, salaried, exempt position. Primary office location is Prattville, Alabama, with regular travel to active project sites across SCG's multi state operating area. Multi state travel and overnight stays may be required. Stronghold Contracting Group is an equal opportunity employer.
