Teaching Assistant

Strive Charter School is hiring full-time Teaching Assistants who have experience caring for children and want a steady, meaningful job in a school.

The job will begin on August 10.

You do not need a college degree. What matters most is that you know how to take care of young children: that you can keep them safe and help them stay focused and respectful.

Teaching Assistants will help teachers during the school day. They will also be in charge of classrooms afterschool and on the weekends for our optional programs.

You Will

• Help teachers during lessons
• Work with small groups of students
• Keep students focused
• Help supervise lunch, activities, and learning periods
• Support classroom routines and organization
• Help maintain a calm and safe environment
• Build positive relationships with students
  
  

Our school has a progressive educational philosophy. We are located in the South Bronx two blocks from the Cypress Avenue stop on the #6 train.

Requirements

You do not need a college degree. We value hands-on experience with children.

Compensation/Benefits

• Salary: $60,000 per year (including overtime)
• Schedule: 50 hours per week
• Year round position with 5 weeks of paid time off per year
• Full-time position with consistent hours
• If you have children who will be in kindergarten through 4th grade, they can attend our school. Students who are 4 years old can attend kindergarten.
