Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team to work with St. Mary's County Infants and Toddlers Program. As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the development of infants and toddlers through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the sensory, motor, and developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
- Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to address identified goals and objectives.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to infants and toddlers in a variety of settings, including homes and in the community.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and family-centered approach to therapy and support.
- Educate and empower families with strategies and techniques to promote developmental skills and enhance participation in daily activities.
- Monitor and document progress regularly, adjusting therapy plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes.
- Stay informed about best practices and evidence-based interventions in pediatric occupational therapy.
Workplace Setting: Birth to 3 program
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Maryland. (if applicable)
- Educator Certificate (if applicable)
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children, preferably in an early intervention or pediatric setting.
- Strong clinical skills in pediatric occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of infants and toddlers.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
