Overview
Streamline Defense is seeking an exceptionally-qualified candidate to serve as a Data Scientist at the Mid-level in support of the Defense Intelligence Agency, located on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with non-technical and analysts to understand their data science needs, suggest solutions, and complete the work in a timely manner.
- Support and/or design machine learning (ML), statistical analysis, and data analysis tasks.
- Leverage existing and/or conduct custom Extract Transform Load (ETL) work to aggregate data from multiple repositories and condition the data to provide novel insights.
- Interpret data, identify features and model variables, assess the quality of model outputs, generate alternatives, and conduct remediation.
- Find and design new approaches to handling, analyzing, and using large volumes of data and/or data sets, and explore fundamental issues with data handling, search, and retention.
- Design new software code to improve data search processes, and design, test, and validate the quality of data and data processes.
- Automate routine workflows and data analysis steps to assist with workflow automation.
- Report results of analyses and provide actionable recommendations.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing to take for a CI Polygraph, if required.
- Bachelor's degree, OR 7 years of relevant experience may substitute in lieu of a degree.
- 3 years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications.
- 3 years of experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, Rust, or PostgreSQL.
- 2 years of experience developing code for data manipulation, data analysis, or data modeling.
- Experience creating and integrating code for retrieving, parsing, and processing data across multiple systems or applications.
- Experience developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and supporting project teams to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms in support of specific mission goals.
- Experience in the development of algorithms leveraging Python and SQL.
- Experience with developing solutions incorporating Large Language Models.
- Experience with Python data science and visualization packages.
- Experience with leading the development of solutions to complex problems.
