As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for our furry friends! You will be responsible for ensuring the health and happiness of animals in our facility while supporting our team in delivering outstanding service. What you’ll do
- Provide daily care for dogs and puppies including feeding, exercising, and grooming.
- Assist with veterinary procedures, including administering medications and monitoring animal health.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming or veterinary visits to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding pets’ needs and behaviors.
- Support dog training sessions by reinforcing commands and helping with behavior management.
- Collaborate with team members to develop care plans tailored to individual animals’ needs.
- Participate in regular training sessions to enhance your skills in animal handling and care.
Experience
- Previous experience in kennel or animal care settings is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome passionate individuals eager to learn!
- Familiarity with veterinary practices or as a veterinary technician is advantageous.
- Skills in dog handling, grooming, pet sitting, or animal restraint are highly valued.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.
