Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to our furry friends. Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor animal behavior and report any signs of illness or distress
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Skills:
- Experience in handling animals, particularly dogs, is preferred
- Knowledge of basic pet care and nutrition
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with pet owners and provide exceptional customer service
- Basic understanding of veterinary procedures and terminology is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
