Job Summary
Seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer on behalf of our client in Pittsburgh, PA. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled cloud professional to support and optimize AWS-based environments, drive infrastructure automation, enhance deployment processes, and ensure the reliability and scalability of cloud-hosted applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and production support within a collaborative DevOps environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure in AWS environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software deployments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization using CloudWatch and other observability tools.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and deployment issues while performing root cause analysis.
- Support and maintain containerized applications using Docker and related technologies.
- Optimize cloud environments for scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with development and engineering teams to improve deployment processes and operational readiness.
- Implement cloud security best practices and contribute to compliance initiatives.
- Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
- Participate in production support and incident response activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4 years of experience supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
- EC2
- Lambda
- S3
- RDS
- CloudWatch
- IAM
- VPC
- ECS and/or EKS
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
- Experience monitoring, maintaining, and supporting production environments.
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, and operational best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure and application environments.
- Experience with source control systems and modern DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Developer Associate.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or other container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
- Experience supporting highly available, cloud-native production environments.
- Experience implementing cloud security controls, governance frameworks, and compliance best practices.
- Scripting and automation experience to streamline operational processes.
- Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs and resource utilization.
- Familiarity with C#, .NET Framework, and RESTful APIs.
