COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION & HVAC SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Strause Refrigeration, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team in Toledo, Ohio.
For 60 years, Strause Refrigeration has provided commercial refrigeration and HVAC installation, service, and repair throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Our work is heavily focused on commercial, industrial, and supermarket refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced technician with a minimum of 3 years of high-level commercial and/or industrial refrigeration experience.
This is not an entry-level or apprentice position. Residential HVAC and apartment/building maintenance experience alone does not meet the experience requirements for this position.
The ideal candidate will have strong refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and HVAC skills and be comfortable working independently on commercial equipment and systems.
We are also looking for someone interested in continuing to grow professionally and developing leadership skills, including the opportunity to mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial/industrial refrigeration experience
- Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
- HVAC experience and applicable certification
- Ability to work independently and provide high-quality customer service
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and a team-oriented attitude

Compensation & Union Benefits
Base Pay: $38.25–$51.00 per hour, based on classification and experience.
In addition to base wages, Strause Refrigeration provides approximately $33.12 per hour in employer-paid union benefits, including:

Base wages plus employer-paid union benefits can represent a total compensation package exceeding $108,000 annually, depending on classification, hours worked, and other compensation.
Employees are paid weekly.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, with participation in a rotating schedule for weekend, after-hours, and holiday on-call service.
