Carpenter
Position Description:
Carpenter position to provide a variety of carpenter/labor work on construction projects.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
-Installation of doors and frames.
-Installation of door, bathroom and other hardware.
-Roof parapet framing and blocking.
-Building of stairs.
-Building of concrete forms and placing concrete.
-Installation of backing and blocking.
-General site and building clean up.
-Dewatering of site.
-Miscellaneous labor tasks as given.
-Applicant must provide all hand or non-powered tools
Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years carpentry experience. Ability to communicate well verbally and follow instruction. Ability to understand and follow safety policies set by OSHA and Straub Construction. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Kansas City metro area as well outlying areas (inside and outside the state) is required.
Physical demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (up to 10 hrs per day); use hands to grasp, touch or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to withstand various weather conditions.
