DTG Aviation is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic to support its maintenance program onboard the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City.  A successful applicant will have the following:

  • Five (5) years’ experience as a licensed A&P mechanic with at least (3) years’ experience working on rotorcraft similar to the H-65.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft structural repair procedures and corrosion related repairs and corrosion control treatments.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of corrosion preventative coatings and compounds.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural/composite modifications and repair.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, and complex assemblies associated with aircraft systems.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, composite repair tools and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate work methods and techniques.
  • Have skill in the use of standard and specialized tools and the equipment of the trade including fixtures, templates, scales, test stands and external power sources.
  • Have knowledge of activity supply procedures to be able to initiate requisitions for needed parts and supplies and has a thorough knowledge of the publication order system to obtain the most up-to-date technical manuals and to propose changes to publications when they find a discrepancy.
  • Ability to read, understand and apply trade or administrative guides such as technical manuals, technical orders, blueprints, sketches, and other related documents.
  • Ability to, reach, bend, walk, pull, sit, stand, crouch, stoop, kneel and stretch for prolonged periods of time. Frequently lift parts and equipment that weigh up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds). Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh about 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, if required.
  • Ability to work in cramped, awkward, and strained, positions or to climb ladders, work platforms, scaffolding and aircraft structures.
  • Capability to work in regulated areas with toxic materials present including hexavalent chromium and cadmium. This will include use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective clothing, etc.
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to follow appropriate safety procedures common to the trade.
  • Knowledge of specific hazardous materials and hazardous wastes procedures is necessary, including the proper fitting and usage of protective gear and completion of related training.
  • Technical capability/experience with aircraft, airframes, and substructures. Should include maintenance of primary, secondary, and tertiary structures.
  • Ability to conduct research using USCG data systems such as Aviation Technical Information Portal (ATIP) or similar type systems.
  • Ability to access and navigate the Aviation Logistics Maintenance Information System (ALMIS)
  • Familiarity with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals or similar manuals with the ability to research maintenance history, procedures and component limitations is desired.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a successful background check with the Department of Homeland Security.
