Summary of Primary Responsibilities:
Serves as operations lead for systems in the Data center to ensure maximum availability of IS infrastructure. The IS infrastructure is critical to the operation of the SPR. Daily operations and drawdown systems are now automated and rely heavily on the IS infrastructure being operational, making this position critical to meeting mission support requirements. Monitors and ensures the integrity and optimum performance of network equipment to avoid disruptions to service. Distributes work assignments to team members and provides guidance and coordinations of effort. Monitors completion and evaluates the quality of work performed. Ensures effective project management of IS projects that affect the overall productivity of the SPR work force, from the requirements phase through the implementation phase to ensure operational needs are met. Installs/monitors, new network hardware and software and interacts with vendors, and user community to resolve technical issues to ensure that systems meet the operational requirements for functional departmental use. Performs configuration management functions for all network resources by maintaining network drawing and documentation. Configuration management allows for effective problem resolution and impact analysis of changes to the infrastructure. Acts as consultant for users to solve complex IS problems. Troubleshoots/diagnoses and resolves problems and assists users in the everyday operation of complex hardware and software systems to maximize productivity. Participates in departmental budget formulation and execution to ensure IS budget is managed per IS long range plan as submitted to DOE. Proposes, evaluates and participates in the procurement process for information systems hardware and software. Makes final technical decisions on best of breed solutions for IS projects.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 10 years of network experience OR HS Diploma and 12 years of networking experience. DESIRED: A strong understanding of the following technologies: Server virtualization, Microsoft Domain administration. Microsoft M365 cloud services. Modern/Mobile device management. Windows and Linux Server administration. PowerShell scripts (write and troubleshoot). Citrix infrastructure administration. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES: Based on the assigned duties of the position the incumbent may be required to maintain a US security clearance. Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware certification desired.
