Job Title: Planner Scheduler Estimator
Must be local to: Apollo Beach, FL 33572
Contract Length: 6 Months
Pay: 75 an hr on W2
This role owns the planning, scheduling, estimating, and execution support of maintenance and project work, including the development of work packages, Primavera (P6) schedules, and validation of work orders. The position supports both outage and non-outage activities and plays a key role in contractor coordination, cost control, and schedule accuracy within a heavy industrial power plant environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Within authorized company objectives, policies, procedures, plans, and budgets, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning, Scoping & Estimating
- Scope, plan, and estimate contractor work in accordance with Planning Contracted Work procedures (ES-CM-100).
- Ensure complete work packages, including HEC procedures, confined space and burn permits, job aides, maintenance procedures, PM attachments, safe work practices, and environmental requirements.
- Estimate contractor work with limited supervisory assistance.
- Coordinate and conduct schedule reviews with all stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and readiness.
- Scheduling & Forecasting
- Develop, maintain, and monitor Primavera P6 schedules, resources, and forecasts for outage and non-outage maintenance and projects.
- Provide scheduling and estimating guidance to Planner/Estimators, Supervisors, and Contractors.
- Assist leadership with the development of scheduling standards, construction processes, and systems.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Ensure a shared understanding of project scope and execution among all stakeholders.
- Maintain contractor project schedules (daily, weekly, outage plans).
- Communicate schedule changes and impacts to daily and weekly plans.
- Productivity & Work Order Closure
- Monitor and reduce overtime usage while identifying opportunities to improve productivity.
- Ensure proper routing and closure of work orders upon job completion.
- Coordinate required follow-up actions such as parts repair, replacement, or procedure updates.
- Invoice & Accounts Coordination
- Maintain primary responsibility for receipt of materials and procurement documentation.
- Distribute documentation to Accounts Payable personnel as required.
- Review and approve authorized invoices for planned work and route for additional approvals as necessary.
- Reporting & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain planning reports and tools, including KPIs, backlog reports, historical data, and other performance metrics.
- Own data collection, reporting development, and weekly distribution using Workman, SAP, Excel, schedules, and KPI dashboards.
- Lead Lean process improvement initiatives, lessons learned, RFIs, and documentation control.
- Contract & Cost Management
- Review invoices for compliance with contract payment terms and conditions.
- Ensure accuracy of billed work relative to scope, schedule, and contract requirements.
- Resource Optimization
- Participate in contractor resource optimization decisions.
- Develop resource-loaded schedules.
- Support contractor selection and overtime control within Operations & Maintenance Planning.
- Procurement Support
- Purchase engineered and non-engineered materials aligned with the schedule, including bulk materials, consumables, rentals, indirect facilities, and equipment.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other duties or special assignments as directed by Operations & Maintenance Planning or Construction leadership.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: College degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or related field (may substitute for equivalent experience)
Licenses / Certifications
- Preferred: PMP Certification
Experience
- Required: Minimum 10 years of progressively complex experience in planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost forecasting within a heavy industrial power plant or similar environment
- Preferred: Experience creating work packages and managing maintenance planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost forecasting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in work management systems for maintenance planning, scheduling, cost forecasting, and tracking
- Strong understanding of maintenance and outage management best practices
- Proven ability to develop and maintain KPIs and Plan of the Week schedules
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint (including spreadsheets, pivot tables, macros, and reporting tools)
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to gather, analyze, correlate, and clearly communicate complex information
- Demonstrated expertise in Primavera P6, Critical Path Method (CPM), baseline schedules, resource-loaded schedules, schedule performance analysis, and earned value management
- Solid understanding of estimate risk assessment, contingency development, and estimate quality measurement
Preferred Technical Skills
- Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project with advanced CPM scheduling knowledge
