Field Service Technician – Heavy Equipment

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Technician with strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial equipment at customer sites. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, solving technical challenges, and providing excellent customer service.
This position requires independent fieldwork, strong problem-solving skills, and a high level of professionalism when working directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial machinery
- Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems (including 3-phase electric)
- Troubleshoot equipment failures using diagnostic tools
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
- Communicate effectively with customers and provide detailed service reports
- Maintain proper inventory, tools, and documentation
- Work independently while meeting service schedule demands
- Travel to various customer locations; occasional overnights may be required
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of hands-on experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Experience working on commercial equipment (not residential)
- Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals
- Strong understanding of 3-phase electrical operations
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Technical or Trade School in electrical, HVAC, mechanics, or related field
- Background in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or a service-related industry
- Refrigeration, HVAC, or electrical certifications a plus
