Unanet Accounting Consultant

About the Role

Manage and support clients' accounting operations and Unanet ERP environments, helping organizations improve financial reporting, streamline processes, and maintain compliance. This is a client-facing consulting role that combines technical accounting expertise with financial systems knowledge, offering the opportunity to work across multiple organizations and industries.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support client accounting operations within the Unanet ERP platform
• Prepare and review journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and support month-end and year-end close activities
• Produce accurate financial statements, management reports, and other key financial deliverables
• Configure, maintain, and optimize Unanet accounting and project accounting systems
• Analyze financial data and troubleshoot accounting and system-related issues
• Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
• Train and support client teams on Unanet functionality, accounting processes, and best practices
• Collaborate with client finance and operations teams to ensure accounting workflows align with business objectives and compliance requirements
• Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining exceptional service and communication

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–15 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Experience managing accounting responsibilities across multiple entities or client engagements
• Hands-on experience with Unanet ERP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and account reconciliations
• Excellent communication skills with a strong client-service mindset
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Unanet implementation or certification experience
• Experience in outsourced accounting, public accounting, or consulting environments
• Familiarity with government contracting accounting, indirect rates, and DCAA compliance
• Experience supporting project-based organizations or professional services firms

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $70,000–$145,000, depending on experience
