Fast-growing direct-to-consumer apparel brand in San Jose is looking for a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to own their entire US tax function. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: no direct reports, full ownership of the domestic compliance cycle, and regular exposure to new business initiatives as the company expands into new categories and markets. The company has been doubling revenue annually, has low turnover, and a stable tenured team.
The culture is fast-moving and collaborative. You'll partner closely with an international tax counterpart, work alongside Accounting, FP&A, and Operations, and coordinate periodically with an overseas finance team. Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 base | Discretionary annual bonus (10-20% target) | 100% Medical, Dental, Vision, Life | 401k | PTO | Employee discount
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 6 years of progressive corporate tax experience (C-corp, federal and state income tax, multi-state compliance)
- Professional-level Mandarin — verbal and written (required for internal collaboration with overseas finance team)
- Hands-on execution of the full compliance cycle — not supervisory only
- Comfortable as a solo operator with no direct reports
- Commutable to San Jose; committed to 4 days on-site
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
