Position Summary
Our Boston area client is seeking a Senior Scientist with deep expertise in hematology to lead the development of in vitro assays and stem/progenitor cell models that support dose‑setting, in vivo study design, and advancement of early‑stage therapeutic programs. This role fills a critical capability gap on the team and is essential for meeting upcoming portfolio milestones and enabling future program initiation in the hematology space.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with hematopoietic cell biology, stem/progenitor cell differentiation systems, and quantitative cell‑based assay development.
Key Responsibilitie
- sLead the design, development, and execution of in vitro assays using human and mouse hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell systems to support dose projections and in vivo pharmacology
- .Generate high‑quality data packages that enable decision‑making for program advancement
- .Develop, optimize, and validate stem‑cell–derived hematopoietic models to support new program initiation and platform expansion
- .Collaborate closely with in vivo pharmacology teams to ensure alignment between in vitro data and in vivo study needs
- .Coordinate assay transfer, data generation, and technical execution with external research partners as needed
- .Manage procurement and qualification of human samples, including implementation of sensitive analytical workflows
- .Serve as a hands‑on experimental contributor while also providing scientific leadership within cross‑functional teams
.Required Qualification
- sPh.D. in Hematology, Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology, or a related discipline, with postdoctoral or industry experience
- .Demonstrated expertise in hematopoietic cell culture and differentiation across multiple lineages
- .Strong proficiency in flow cytometry, including panel design, execution, and data interpretation
- .Experience with in vitro pharmacology, quantitative assay development, and automation
- .Hands‑on experience with stem‑cell–derived hematopoietic models
- .Ability to independently design, troubleshoot, and execute complex experimental workflows
- .Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
.Preferred Qualification
- sExperience supporting dose projection or in vivo study design
