Stranger Creative is hiring a Mid-Level Project Manager to support digital and creative work across web design, visual design, art direction, and campaign development. You will collaborate with designers, art directors, strategists, copywriters, and engineers to ensure projects move smoothly from kickoff through delivery. This role blends creative production, client management, operational discipline, and proactive risk mitigation.

What You Will Do
Project Leadership and Delivery
- Manage day-to-day workflows for website builds, design sprints, visual design initiatives, and campaign development.
- Build timelines, scopes, and project plans using Asana, ensuring stakeholders stay aligned on deliverables, dependencies, risks, and milestones.
- Identify risks early, including timeline shifts, resourcing gaps, creative blockers, and scope creep, and implement mitigation plans before issues escalate.
- Oversee resourcing through Forecast and ensure accurate time tracking using Harvest.
- Run standups, coordinate cross-functional communication, manage dependencies, and keep work unblocked.
- Ensure final deliverables reflect strong creative direction, operational excellence, and client expectations.
Creative and Production Collaboration
- Partner with designers and art directors working primarily in Figma, with occasional use of Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
- Facilitate ideation sessions, critiques, and creative alignment across teams.
- Support production needs for web experiences, campaign assets, content creation, and brand extensions.
- Develop presentations and deliverables using Pitch.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a key point of contact for client communication, feedback, and approvals.
- Present work, capture and translate feedback, and maintain transparency around decisions, timing, and risks.
- Build confidence with clients by proactively surfacing challenges, offering solutions, and managing expectations.
- Maintain alignment with internal leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Operations, Budgeting, and Internal Systems
- Maintain a high standard of operational excellence across all projects, from initiation through post-mortem.
- Manage budgets, track hours, and identify scope changes early.
- Support invoicing and financial tracking using QuickBooks.
- Ensure alignment through Slack and maintain organized, accessible project documentation.
- Monitor operational risks and contribute to workflow and process improvements that reduce friction and improve efficiency.
You should have:
- Three to five years of project management experience within a design agency, digital studio, or creative organization.
- Strong understanding of visual design, art direction, UX and UI workflows, and creative production.
- Proven ability to identify risks early, communicate them clearly, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Commitment to operational excellence through structured planning, reliable documentation, and strong organization.
- Proficiency with Asana, Harvest, Forecast, Slack, QuickBooks, and presentation tools like Pitch.
- Comfort working with creative teams using Figma and Adobe.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring clarity and calm to complex, fast-moving projects.
- Leadership instincts that help guide teams, protect timelines, and uphold process integrity.

Compensation:
- The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000 to $105,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, and overall fit.
Flexible location:
- You can work from any location in the United States as long as your location allows you to complete the demands of the position and mission. All staff are required to travel at least two times per year to internal team retreats. (Accommodations to this requirement will be made only in exceptional circumstances.) We offer shared workspaces across the US for staff members who enjoy working in an office environment.
