rimary Purpose: School counselors are educational professionals who provide comprehensive services to students and families to promote academic, social-emotional, and career development. Counselors help all students reach their full potential by building relationships with students and families, providing a comprehensive school counseling program, advocating for equity and access, and collaborating with educators and other professionals. Additionally, school counselors may serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve academic success and personal growth. This position must meet the general teaching, specific content, special services, or other applicable qualifications outlined in the NH Administrative Rules for Education and Strafford School District curriculum, instruction, and assessment frameworks; professional development master plan; etc
Minimum Qualifications: Valid certification or eligibility for school counseling; Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field- Master's degree preferred; Experience as a school counselor preferred; and other qualifications as specified by the Superintendent.
Certification Required: Certification or certifiable as a school counselor by the State of New Hampshire Department of Education Reports To: Principal
