What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safe Sitter Instructor position at Stoughton Health?
Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Safe Sitter Instructor to join our Community Education team on an Occasional basis.
The Safe Sitter Instructor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and teaching the Safe Sitter and Safe at Home classes for the community's youth.
Position Requirements:
- Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent. At least 18 years of age.
- Required: Completed Safe Sitter Instructor training.
- Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in education or communication.
- Professional Experience: Two years of experience in healthcare, childcare (including parenting), or youth work. Two years of experience teaching children 8-16 in a classroom setting.
- Required Certification: BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
- Special Requirements:
- Classroom Management Skills
- Ability to relate well with children ages 8 – 16
- Enjoy teaching youth
- Strong oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work and interact effectively with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality per hospital policies and procedures.
Work Shift:
- Occasional
- 10 hours per month
- Scheduled Days: Classes offered on weekday evenings and Saturdays
- Schedule: 4 Classes per month
