Stoughton Health, located 15 minutes south of Madison has an excellent employment opportunity available for someone who would like to become certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Stoughton Health is looking for someone to join our team in the capacity of a Patient Care Technician. This person will train alongside Stoughton Health staff to learn the duties of the Certified Nursing Assistant role. Stoughton Health will pay for this individual to take the Certified Nursing Assistant training course through an accredited school such as Blackhawk Technical College or Madison College. We will be very flexible with the candidate’s school schedule to ensure they can attend classes and trainings as needed.
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for administering direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or qualified staff. This position may also perform general clerical duties to ensure the smooth operation of the unit. Qualifications include: High school graduate or equivalent, prefer someone with previous experience in a hospital and/or health care setting. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire. Also, non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training is required every two years on a rolling calendar.
The position does require a two year commitment to Stoughton Health upon successfully completing the program and receiving certification.

- Part-time, variable shifts to accommodate the candidate’s needs, working 20 hours/week, 40 hours bi-weekly, with some weekend/holiday on-call responsibility.
