IT PLM/PDM Analyst
Canton/Akron, OH Area
Summary:
The role serves as the global administrator for PLM/PDM and CAD software systems, supporting enterprise-wide engineering applications. Responsibilities include ensuring system uptime, managing software licenses, coordinating upgrades, and supporting end users. The position requires collaboration with IT infrastructure teams to maintain engineering system configurations, databases, and CAD Help Desk functions. Due to access to export-controlled technical data, U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily maintenance and support for global PLM/PDM and CAD applications, resolving end-user issues.
- Establish and document best practices for system usage and administration.
- Stay current on new developments in PLM/PDM/CAD technologies and recommend improvements.
- Deliver strong customer service, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with users and team members.
- Provide performance metrics to leadership.
- Coordinate with software vendors on system needs, updates, and hardware requirements.
- Manage software application upgrades, review new features, evaluate business impact, and plan global rollouts.
- Coordinate user training and support adoption of system enhancements.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to configure engineering desktops/laptops and ensure database functionality.
- Provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support for CAD applications.
Qualifications:
- Experience administering, configuring, and installing PLM/PDM and 2D/3D CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including handling ambiguous technical issues.
- Aptitude in programming languages such as C#, C , and XML.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with JSON is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field preferred; 2 years of PLM/PDM support experience required (or equivalent education/experience).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Green Card holder due to access to export-controlled technical data.
