Job Overview
Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Humboldt, KS | Direct Hire | $30 to $56/hr DOE | Mon through Fri Days
This is a direct hire role on a small, close knit team. You'll diagnose and repair construction and agricultural equipment in the shop. The work is steady and the hours are mostly regular. Pay grows with your skills, and there's a clear path to Master Technician pay.
WHAT WE OFFER
- $30 to $56/hr based on experience and technician level (Master level techs earn $55 /hr)
- Overtime available at time and a half
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (occasional overtime/weekends)

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction and agricultural equipment (tractors, combines, loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steers)
- Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Repair or replace worn and damaged components; test equipment after repair
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
- Complete work orders, warranty paperwork, and failure reports
- Occasionally support field service calls alongside senior technicians
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
- WHAT YOU BRING
- Hands on mechanical experience on heavy equipment, ag equipment, or diesel trucks/equipment
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year technical/diesel certificate OR 3 years of related experience
- Your own hand tools
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
NICE TO HAVE
- John Deere, CAT, Case, New Holland, Kubota, or AGCO dealer experience
- Diesel or ag technology degree (Ag Tech, JD Tech, Diesel Tech programs)
- Earthmoving, quarry, or aggregate equipment experience
- Field service / service truck experience
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certification
