Duties
- Supervise and support the serving team to deliver outstanding guest service, ensuring timely and accurate order delivery
- Assist with training new staff on POS systems such as Toast and OpenTable to streamline operations
- Upsell menu items effectively to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales revenue
- Manage guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a positive dining experience
- Oversee food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols to maintain compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food quality and presentation meet high standards
- Handle cashing out guests, processing payments accurately, and managing cash handling procedures
- Support the host/hostess team in managing reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness in service areas, including bussing tables and assisting with food preparation when needed
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent customer service skills rooted in hospitality and food industry best practices
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Toast and OpenTable for efficient order processing and billing
- Strong culinary knowledge coupled with restaurant experience in fine dining or nightlife settings like nightclubs or upscale bars
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours
- Proven ability in sales techniques including upselling to maximize revenue opportunities
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Food safety certification knowledge along with experience in sanitation, food handling, and basic math for accurate transactions
- Previous experience in serving roles such as host/hostess or busser that demonstrates adaptability within food service environments
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced setting
