As part of Stony Brook Medicine, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) combines the best in academic and community medicine, improving access to advanced medical care for residents of the North Fork and Shelter Island. With 70 beds, SBELIH is Suffolk County’s first hospital, serving the North Fork since 1905. SBELIH provides care to 25,000 year-round residents and expanding to 60,000 summer residents with comprehensive healthcare solutions, including behavioral health, medical-surgical, orthopedics and general surgery, wound care, interventional pain management and GI, advanced ambulatory care, diagnostic, and physical therapy services. The hospital is also a clinical campus and training site for Stony Brook Medicine, with its first SBELIH Psychiatry resident having graduated in 2022.
StaffCo is a Professional Employer Organization, commonly referred to as a PEO, duly organized and registered under the New York Professional Employer Organization law. StaffCo and SUNY have entered into a professional employer agreement under which StaffCo is the employer of Stony Brook Eastern Long Island employees and responsible for all aspects of employment, including hirings, promotions, disciplines, terminations, the day-to-day direction and supervision of work, as well as labor relations and collective bargaining. StaffCo is fully responsible for providing all payroll and human resources services, including the payment of wages, collecting and reporting payroll taxes and maintaining any and all employee benefits. Duties of an Executive Assistant may include but are not limited to the following:
- Travel and Availability: Travel across the entire service area as needed, and work nights and weekends as assigned to support development and fundraising events.
- Organizational and Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a creative approach to communication. Handle multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Donor Relations: Maintain a track record of working with high profile donors, always ensuring the utmost professionalism. Develop and execute effective fundraising strategies and techniques, particularly with individual donors.
- Community Programs: Plan, execute, and evaluate community health and wellness programs and activities that align with the hospital's mission.
- Educational Workshops: Develop seminars and educational workshops that address the
- identified needs of the community, enhancing public awareness and engagement.
- Grassroots Fundraising: Assist in directing grassroots fundraising initiatives designed to engage local businesses, community groups, and social organizations.
- Prospect Research: Assist in identifying and engaging major gift prospects by researching, investigating, and utilizing resources from various sources. Record and maintain prospect profiles with appropriate follow-up.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with acute attention to detail
- Proven experience working with high-profile donors and maintaining professionalism
- Ability to develop and execute winning fundraising strategies and community engagement initiatives
- Experience in executing and evaluating health and wellness programs and developing educational workshops
- Familiarity with using databases for maintaining donor records and generating reports
- Strong analytical skills for financial analysis, trend identification, and budgeting
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a creative and proactive approach
