Qualifications
This job consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness of an assigned facility and grounds. An employee in this class, under the supervision of an administrator or director, receives general direction and leadership from the maintenance supervisor. This employee performs cleaning and maintenance functions. Work is evaluated through observation while work is in progress and by inspection of completed assignments. This position requires completing tasks independently and exercising considerable judgment.

Qualifications
- Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment
- Knowledge of the English language to understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment and materials, and safety and accident prevention
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- A working knowledge of building maintenance and its related systems.
- A working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Ability to maintain a working knowledge of changes in systems and equipment.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
- Ability to read.
- Ability to describe orally or in writing repair or maintenance problems as necessary.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with Town department personnel and private contractors.
