Position Title: Director of Security
Hire Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hire
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Our client, a large natural gas provider, is seeking a Director of Security to build and lead the enterprise security function across its corporate and operating footprint. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct exposure to senior executives, responsible for protecting people, facilities, and critical infrastructure assets in a regulated, high-consequence operating environment. Prior FBI, U.S. Secret Service, federal law enforcement, or high level military experience is a firm requirement for this search.
Essential Functions & Requirements:
- Develops and executes the corporate security strategy and roadmap
- Leads physical security, asset security, executive protection, travel security, and crisis management programs
- Conducts security risk assessments, threat assessments, and vulnerability evaluations for facilities, personnel, and operations
- Develops and maintains security standards, procedures, and governance processes
- Manages security incidents, investigations, and response activities
- Coordinates with law enforcement, government agencies, industry groups, and third-party security providers
- Oversees access control, surveillance systems, and security technology programs
- Supports emergency response planning and business continuity efforts
- Provides security guidance for mergers, acquisitions, major projects, and new business opportunities
- Leads and develops the Security and Fleet teams, including budget management and strategic planning
- Delivers security metrics, risk reporting, and executive briefings to senior leadership
- Travels as needed to support multi-site operations and executive requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Business, Military Science, or related field (required)
Experience:
- Prior FBI, U.S. Secret Service, federal law enforcement, or high level military experience (required)
- 12 to 15 years of progressively responsible security experience, including leadership of multi-site security programs (required)
- Demonstrated experience managing corporate, industrial, energy, or critical infrastructure security programs (required)
- Experience conducting threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments (required)
- Strong incident management, investigation, and crisis response experience (required)
- Experience managing third-party security providers and security technologies (required)
- Experience within the oil and gas, energy, utilities, chemical, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure sectors (preferred)
- Executive protection experience supporting senior leadership teams (preferred)
- Experience supporting publicly traded companies and executive leadership teams (preferred)
- Experience leading enterprise security programs during organizational growth, acquisitions, or transformation initiatives (preferred)
- Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, PCI, CFE, or similar (preferred)

Salary : $220,000 - $260,000
