Shift Lead

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Shift Leader to help lead our restaurant team and ensure smooth daily operations while delivering an exceptional experience for every guest.

As a Shift Leader, you will serve as a key member of the management team and provide leadership and direction to Team Members during your assigned shift. You will help maintain high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness, safety, and employee performance while supporting the General Manager and overall goals of the restaurant.

The Shift Leader is expected to lead by example, communicate effectively, and create a positive and productive work environment.

Shift Leader Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead the Team

• Direct and support Team Members during assigned shifts.

• Help ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and provides excellent customer service.

• Foster a positive working environment through effective communication, teamwork, and relationship building.

• Provide training, coaching, and guidance to Team Members.

• Delegate tasks and ensure responsibilities are completed properly and on time.

• Recognize strong performance and address performance concerns appropriately.

• Assist management with maintaining employee accountability and productivity.

Provide Exceptional Customer Service

• Greet customers and ensure they receive friendly, professional, and efficient service.

• Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints promptly and respectfully.

• Help create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for customers.

• Ensure customer service standards are consistently maintained throughout the shift.

Maintain Restaurant Standards

• Lead by example and maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, and service.

• Ensure Team Members follow company policies, procedures, and standards of performance and conduct.

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked restaurant.

• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices are followed.

• Monitor the restaurant during the shift and communicate operational needs to management.

• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, and other daily store duties as needed.

Professionalism & Integrity

• Conduct yourself professionally when interacting with customers, Team Members, vendors, and corporate management.

• Serve as a role model by demonstrating a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local labor, health, and safety regulations.

• Handle situations with honesty, integrity, and accountability.

• Communicate important shift information, employee concerns, and operational issues to the General Manager or appropriate manager.

REQUIREMENTS

• No prior managerial experience required; leadership potential is what matters most
• Experience in fast-paced quick service or similar restaurant environments is required
• Provide top-notch, welcoming customer service with a respectful, inclusive approach
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written interactions
• Demonstrate strong leadership by coaching, supporting, and motivating team members
• Stay calm and effective under pressure while multitasking to keep the shift running smoothly
• Use basic financial literacy and analytical/problem-solving skills to support daily operations
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License for work-related deliveries or errands
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed for stocking, prep, and service tasks
