DISPATCH / LOGISTICS SPECIALIST:
Stone-Mart, leading natural stone importer and distributor looking for full time dispatch and logistics specialist for Tampa distribution center.
This position is responsible for day-to-day shipping activities of the company’s outgoing orders and the coordination of product deliveries to company’s locations in U.S. and to customers. Position contributes to the company’s overall success by ensuring that service levels are met or exceeded and that freight costs are in line with approved budget and maintain good customer service
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Calling customers to confirm their deliveries, addresses and delivery details, responsible to coordinate and route our company flatbed trucks for their multiple stop deliveries to ship their orders and materials to our customers, including local deliveries,nationwide shipments and transfers among Stone-Mart locations.
Determine the most cost efficient and economical routing of transportation using maps and routing tools. Assign and tender shipments to preferred carriers.Send BOL’s, packing list to customers, warehouses, freight carriers.Initiate investigations into cause of damages or shortages of consignments and file claims with carriers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Shipping or transportation planning background required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Fluency with MS Office, including Excel, Data Entry level
Forklift experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational abilities
Resourceful with attention to detail and accuracy
Customer service oriented with a positive attitude
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
