Senior Litigation Attorney (Of Counsel / Partner) – Trucking & Catastrophic Injury

A growing national insurance defense practice is seeking a senior litigation attorney (Of Counsel or Partner level) to join its Las Vegas office.

This role is designed for an experienced insurance defense litigator who can independently manage high-exposure matters, mentor attorneys, and play a significant role in the continued growth of the Nevada practice. While a portable book of business is welcome, it is not required. The firm has an established caseload, strong carrier relationships, and a substantial amount of work already in place.

For the right individual, this role offers a clear leadership path, including the opportunity to help shape and potentially lead the Las Vegas office over time.

The practice focuses heavily on:

• Trucking and transportation litigation
• Catastrophic injury defense
• Premises liability defense
• General liability defense
• Commercial litigation matters

We are moving efficiently and can take candidates from initial conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a substantial docket of complex insurance defense matters.
• Handle high-exposure trucking, catastrophic injury, premises liability, and general liability cases from inception through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide proactive guidance to clients and carriers.
• Conduct and defend depositions, attend mediations, argue motions, and serve as first chair at trial when necessary.
• Mentor and develop junior attorneys and support staff.
• Build and strengthen relationships with insurance carriers, adjusters, and clients.
• Contribute to office leadership, growth initiatives, and long-term strategic planning.
• Assist with training and team development as the Nevada office continues to expand.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Nevada.
• 10 years of civil litigation experience.
• Significant insurance defense experience, preferably involving trucking, transportation, catastrophic injury, and general liability matters.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation with minimal supervision.
• Meaningful deposition, mediation, motion practice, and trial experience.
• Experience mentoring attorneys or leading litigation teams.
• Strong relationships with carriers, claims professionals, and industry stakeholders.
• Portable business is welcome but not required.
