A well-established Midwest insurance defense firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Springfield office.
We're open to attorneys ranging from new graduates through approximately eight years of experience who are interested in building or continuing a career in civil litigation.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in office / 2 remote) offering meaningful litigation responsibility, direct partner mentorship, and a realistic path toward long-term advancement.
The firm moves efficiently and is typically able to take candidates from initial conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.

Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, motions and written discovery
- Conduct legal research and motion practice
- Take and defend depositions (experience dependent)
- Attend hearings, mediations and court appearances
- Communicate directly with clients and insurance carriers
- Participate in trial preparation and litigation strategy
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Illinois Bar admission
- 0–8 years of litigation experience
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Insurance defense experience is a plus but not required
