About the Role
Stone Fortress is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator with a CDL A license to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining heavy equipment operation with driving responsibilities - NO overnights, NO log books, NO nights, NO weekends. You'll run excavation equipment, load and unload heavy machinery, and haul/move roll-off dumpsters. If you're reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable wearing multiple hats on a jobsite, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Operate excavators to perform digging, grading, trenching, and site excavation work
- Safely load and unload heavy equipment onto/off trailers
- Transport and place roll-off dumpsters at job sites
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow all safety protocols and site regulations
- Coordinate with site supervisors and crew to keep projects on schedule
- Maintain accurate logs for driving hours and equipment usage as required
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with clean driving record
- 5 years proven experience operating excavators
- Experience hauling/loading heavy equipment (lowboy/trailer experience a plus)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Roll-off truck driving experience
Compensation & Benefits
- $27.00 – $32.00 per hour based on experience
- Full-time, consistent hours
