Longtime Winemaker Melissa Burr and Vineyard Manager Jason Tosch work collaboratively to refine the site and honor Stoller’s legacy of exceptional winegrowing. The estate features the world’s first LEED® Gold certified winery, three guest homes, and a state-of-the-art tasting room with panoramic vineyard views.

Role Description The Vice President of Winemaking is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Dayton, OR, responsible for overseeing all aspects of wine production from grape to bottle. This role manages the winemaking team, sets production strategies, and ensures wine quality, consistency, and style that align with the Stoller Family Estate brand. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising harvest operations, fermentation management, blending, aging, bottling schedules, and cellar protocols while upholding safety and sustainability standards. The Vice President of Winemaking collaborates closely with vineyard management on fruit quality and yield goals, and works with hospitality, sales, and marketing teams to support brand storytelling, product development, and customer experiences. The role also involves budgeting, vendor management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and training and mentoring team members to foster a high-performance, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including team leadership, training, and talent development in a production or hospitality environment.
  • Expertise in wine production and cellar operations, with a proven track record in premium or luxury winemaking and vineyard collaboration.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance relevant to wine, food, and beverage production.
  • Experience in food & beverage service or hospitality, with a customer service mindset that supports high-quality guest and trade experiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Enology, Viticulture, Food Science, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, production planning, inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across vineyard, production, sales, and hospitality teams.
  • Comfort with technology and winery management systems for data tracking, reporting, and operational planning.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of winery work, including extended hours during harvest and working in a cellar environment.
