Barista

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Barista to join our vibrant café team. The Lead Barista will serve as a key contributor to delivering exceptional customer experiences, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and service. The ideal candidate will possess strong barista skills, retail sales experience, and a commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Lead daily café operations, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent customer service at all times
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, food items, and snacks in accordance with company standards
• Oversee retail sales transactions using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Clover POS, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and sales recording
• Supervise and support team members in food preparation, serving, and cashiering duties
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
• Manage inventory levels for coffee supplies, food ingredients, and retail products; assist with stock ordering
• Provide training and mentorship to new staff members on POS systems, food handling procedures, and customer service techniques
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and ensure a welcoming environment
• Monitor time management within the team to optimize productivity during peak hours
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and reporting

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a barista with strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math for cash handling and retail math
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
• Experience in food preparation, serving, and food industry standards preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
