We are seeking a detailed-oriented, organized, and experienced Automotive Title Clerk to join our team in the greater Baltimore area. In this role, you will manage the accurate tracking and processing of vehicle titles while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Your expertise will support dealership operations by maintaining precise records, facilitating smooth customer transactions and providing exceptional administrative assistance. Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process vehicle titles and related paperwork efficiently and in accordance with legal requirements
- Verify all billing information for accuracy and completeness before submission
- Maintain organized records of all title transfers, billing transactions, and customer files for easy retrieval and audit readiness
- Collaborate with sales teams, finance departments, and external agencies to ensure seamless documentation flow
- Manage title inventory control and related supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequately maintained
- Assist the sales department and external lenders with inquiries regarding title status, billing questions, or documentation requirements via phone, email, or in person
- Ensure compliance with all state-specific automotive registration laws and billing procedures while adhering to company policies
Qualifications
- Previous title processing experience in an automotive dealership or DMV office
- Strong understanding of title processing procedures and legal requirements for vehicle ownership transfer
- Proficiency in research methods to verify lien status, ownership history, and other relevant details
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors in documentation
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with dealership team members, external agencies, and customers
- Proficiency in administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and title inventory management
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and District of Columbia is a plus
- Experience with CDK and knowledge of Excel also a plus
Experience
3 years processing titles in an automotive dealership or DMV environment
Pay
$24-30 per hour based on experience
Expected Hours
No less than 40 hours per week
