JOB SUMMARY:
The Central Business Office Director is responsible for the Central Business Office Operations and managing all processes related to hospital, clinic, and client accounts receivable. The responsibilities include management of the activities for patient billing audits, oversight of the chargemaster as it relates to billing, credit and collection, oversight of provider based and individual physician fee schedules; insurance agreements, monthly and annual financial reporting and maintaining compliant financial and productivity standards. In the coordination of these operations, must exercise the health system’s standards of quality patient care and quality customer and employee satisfaction.
The CBO Director reports to the Head of Revenue Cycle. As part of the management team, coordinates operation with other hospital units and medical staff and may be asked to act as a representative on PI committees requiring a financial liaison. Also interprets policies and recommends policy changes to enhance internal control. Interviews and hires new employees and assigns them to various work areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate or master’s degree in related field preferred.

Five years of experience in increasing responsible financial positions in a healthcare or related organization with demonstrated experience in supervising activities and operating.

Five years of experience in physician practice billing preferred.

Must have thorough knowledge of billing, collection, and accounts receivable management controls as well as general knowledge of financial analysis.

Must have an ability to organize, delegate and supervise professionals as well as clerical staff.

Must possess both oral and written skills as demonstrated by previous work experience and be able to communicate with other members of the management team.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively lead a patient centered customer service team and processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
