We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Lumber Yard Hand. This role involves assisting yard personnel, delivery drivers, and warehouse, with the loading and unloading of lumber and other building materials. Key Responsibilities
On any day you would arrive for your shift and check the delivery board for that day. You may be going out with a driver, have your own load to deliver, or be assisting load builders in the yard. If you are headed out with a driver you would find them and see what they need help loading or prepping for the delivery. If you are taking something out, you would get your paperwork from dispatch, and then get the truck you have been assigned loaded, get invoiced and then take the load to a jobsite. If you're in the yard, it may be pulling a load for a later delivery, rotating stock, unloading a truck, or assisting customers, no day is the same.
