Civil Engineer (Land/Site Development)

About the Role
Stillpoint AEC is partnering with a highly respected civil engineering, surveying, planning, and infrastructure consulting firm to identify a Civil Engineer for its Phoenix office. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a firm known for delivering high-profile land development, municipal, transportation, water resources, and infrastructure projects throughout Arizona and the Southwest.
The Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and execution of site development projects while working closely with developers, municipalities, architects, surveyors, and multidisciplinary project teams. This role is ideal for a civil engineer with strong experience in land development and site design who is looking for greater project ownership, client exposure, and long-term career growth within a collaborative consulting environment.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee civil engineering designs for commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, residential, industrial, institutional, and master-planned development projects
- Design site layouts, grading plans, storm drainage systems, utility infrastructure, paving plans, and erosion control systems
- Perform stormwater management, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and supporting project documentation
- Coordinate permitting efforts with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with surveyors, planners, landscape architects, architects, and other project consultants
- Participate in client meetings and maintain strong working relationships throughout project delivery
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination efforts
- Review plans and specifications to ensure quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance
- Assist with construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination
- Support and mentor junior engineering staff as appropriate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
- Strong experience in civil site design and land development engineering required
- PE preferred; candidates actively progressing toward PE licensure and nearing completion of the licensing process will also be considered
- Strong experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, and site development projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required
- Experience preparing construction documents and permitting packages required
- Familiarity with Arizona development regulations and municipal review processes preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a consulting environment
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
