Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Land Services / Laborer II position performs a variety of work on the grounds maintenance and landscaping at various Tribal properties to ensure an up kept appearance and maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Mowing, edging, weeding, raking, applying herbicides and fertilizers, pruning, trimming, pressure washing, maintaining road ways, streetscapes, hardscapes, parking lots, landscapes, drains and drainage ditches, brush cutting, field mowing, plant installation, debris disposal and other areas considered common maintenance.
- Performs troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments and installation of irrigation as needed.
- Operates small equipment i.e. gators, mowers, weed eaters, and other types of mechanical equipment.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work independently as well as cooperatively within a team oriented crew environment
- Follow safety standards for tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Perform physical labor involving the full range of body movements including reaching, bending, grasping, and lifting under all types of outdoor weather conditions.
- Operate hand tools and mechanized equipment (mowers, power tools, utility and field tractors).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of: Methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, painting, masonry, grounds keeping, appliance repair, and electrical wiring; standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Skill and Ability to: Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; operate a forklift; read blueprints; review and identify projects needed to be serviced by outside contractors; follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
- Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
- Ability to listen well, and take direction.
- Must be reliable and exercise excellent attendance.
- Must be able to use cleaning tools and equipment, i.e. mop, broom, etc.
- Must adhere to the Stillaguamish policies and procedures set out by the Tribe.

- Frequently involves moderate to heavy work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force to move objects.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.
- Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time.
- Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Frequently requires use of hands and fingers i.e. typing-training use of equipment.
- Requires constant hand, eye, and foot coordination for driving, and operation of tools and heavy equipment.
- Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.
$22.63 - 25.40/hr
Full Time 40 hours/week
