Experienced Concrete Finishers & Laborers

Stief Concrete Work, Inc. has multiple openings for experienced concrete finishers, experienced carpenters, and experienced laborers. We are seeking several individuals to join our site division (curb and sidewalk) and several more individuals to join our building/tilt-up division. Crane operator certification (mobile/rough terrain) and/or CDL A license are a plus. Build your community and your career by joining our team! Experienced Finisher

Primary Responsibilities:

• Hand finish small, medium, and large-scale flatwork (float, trowel, edger, joiner)
• Operate walk-behind and ride-on power trowels
• Monitor set times and adjust finishing techniques accordingly
• Set and maintain wet bench
• Apply specified finishes (trowel, broom, architectural, swirl, polished, etc.)
• Establish and maintain elevations, grades, and slopes
• Assist with building and stripping forms
• Assist with pouring and placing concrete

Experienced Carpenter (Concrete)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build and strip flatwork, column, beam, curb, and stair forms
• Construct and dismantle wall forming systems and tilt panel bracing
• Install embed plates and anchor bolts per specifications
• Cut, place, and tie rebar mats
• Read and build according to drawings and specifications
• Measure, layout, and cut construction joints per project plans and specifications
• Assist with pouring and placing concrete

Experienced Laborer (Concrete)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pour and place concrete
• Assist with building and stripping forms
• Cut, place, and tie rebar
• Place pins and set string lines
• Perform general construction tasks as assigned
• Use hand tools (hammer, tape measure, pliers, etc.)
• Operate power tools (grinder, circular saw, drill, etc.)
• Lift 50 lbs repetitively

Shared Duties (All Positions)

• Maintain a clean and safe job site
• Pour and place concrete as needed
• Support form building and stripping when required
• Follow job specifications and company quality standards
• Work under the supervision of a foreman to meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations
• Be a team player and communicate clearly and effectively
• Accept constructive feedback and implement changes
• Help train and support less experienced crew members
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment

Shared Requirements

• 3 years of relevant concrete experience (commercial preferred)
• Consistent attendance and reliable transportation
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
