What You’ll Do…
As the Procurement Specialist, you’ll provide direct acquisition and contracting support to one of STI Federal’s federal client organizations, executing the full procurement lifecycle to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective results. You’ll execute the full procurement lifecycle, from requirement analysis to post-award administration, ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations and client-specific policies. Your role will support timely, transparent, and cost-effective procurement processes that advance program goals and sustain mission-critical operations. Your work will directly advance STI Federal’s mission to deliver exceptional support to federal partners serving critical national initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
- Support end-to-end procurement – Analyze requirements, recommend contract types, and assist in the preparation of acquisition documentation.
- Maintain compliance – Ensure all procurement actions align with applicable laws, regulations, and client-specific standards.
- Facilitate vendor coordination – Engage with internal and external partners to support competitive sourcing and timely contract execution.
- Administer contract activities – Track and verify invoices, prepare modifications, and support closeout functions for completed contracts.
- Promote transparency and accountability – Document and report procurement actions to maintain audit readiness and stakeholder confidence.

- Demonstrated ability with negotiating, awarding, and administering competitive and sole source contracts, particularly with Fixed-Price, Cost-Reimbursement, and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience related to federal contracting.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Federal experience as a FAR based Contracting Officer/Contract Specialist
- Experience supporting Advanced Research and Development (ARD) or Medical Countermeasures (MCM) programs.
Compensation & Work Environment
- Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000, dependent on experience.
- Environment: Work will be performed at a secure facility in Washington, D.C., with potential for a hybrid schedule for candidates residing within 50 miles of the site.
Note: This position is being advertised in anticipation of contract award. Employment is contingent upon STI Federal’s successful contract award and subsequent task order funding.
