Job Summary
Medical Office Receptionist wanted for a medical practice in Alhambra, CA. Applicants MUST be bilingual in Spanish/English. Looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. They will need to be detail oriented, have a good attitude and work ethic, and have strong communication, organizational and general office skills. Computer literacy, proficiency with the web, and various computer applications are a must. Candidates MUST have a professional demeanor and prior work experience in the medical field.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Creating a pleasant and welcoming environment
- Answering phone calls and taking messages
- Distribute calls appropriately to all departments & physicians
- Collect co-payments
- Appointment scheduling
- Prepare and print appointment schedule
- Checking in patients
- Insurance Verification per SMG policy & procedure
- Offer general claims/insurance information.
- Perform routine typing or completion of notes/instructions for patients.
- Assist in obtaining diagnostic results
- Daily collection report
- Be receptive to conditions and patient needs in waiting areas
- Escort patients to examining rooms
- Route mail, distribute appropriate materials
- Enter and update patient information into our electronic medical records database
- Other administrative duties such as copying, faxing, scanning
Reliable and able to perform a wide variety of tasks in a fast paced environment and remain pleasant and personable
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, Power point)
- Previous experience working in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills, organizational and prioritization skills
- Valid Driver's License
This position works very closely with patients, therefore, candidates should have the essential skills to exercise good judgment, and demonstrate professionalism in patient interaction both in person and on the telephone.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
