Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager role based in Birmingham, AL. The Project Manager will oversee assigned fabrication and machining projects from kickoff through delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements are met. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with engineering, production, and quality teams; managing project schedules; tracking milestones; and resolving issues that may impact cost or timelines. The role involves monitoring expediting activities, reviewing inspection and test documentation, and ensuring all client specifications and industry standards are followed. The Project Manager will also communicate regularly with customers and vendors, prepare status reports, support logistics planning for shipments, and contribute to continuous improvement in project execution processes.
Qualifications
- Project coordination and leadership skills, including experience with Project Management and managing multiple concurrent jobs.
- Experience in Expediting and working as an Expeditor to track materials, components, and vendor deliverables.
- Knowledge of quality and compliance practices, including Inspection processes and documentation review.
- Background in Logistics Management, including scheduling shipments, coordinating with carriers, and supporting on-time delivery.
- Experience in a fabrication, machining, construction, or industrial manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficiency with project tracking tools and basic office software (e.g., MS Office or similar); familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Birmingham, AL, collaborate in a shop and office environment, and occasionally visit suppliers or job sites as needed.
- Relevant education or training in project management, engineering, business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., PMP or equivalent) are beneficial but not required.
