Position Summary
Steves & Sons is seeking an experienced Bilingual Production Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership within our Lebanon manufacturing facility.
This is a highly visible, floor-focused leadership position for someone who understands manufacturing operations and knows how to lead people in a fast-paced production environment.
The Production Supervisor will lead daily production activities, coach and develop employees, coordinate staffing and workflow, support equipment operations, and drive accountability for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance.
The ideal candidate is a confident and approachable leader who communicates effectively in both English and Spanish, builds strong relationships with employees, addresses problems proactively, and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production activities while maintaining a strong, visible presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Supervise, coach, train, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and performance expectations.
- Assign work, communicate priorities, coordinate staffing and workflow, and ensure daily production goals are achieved.
- Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies and expectations.
- Communicate work instructions, safety requirements, company policies, and performance expectations effectively in both English and Spanish.
- Promote accountability while creating a respectful, team-oriented work environment.
- Operate and oversee heavy manufacturing machinery and ensure employees are properly trained in safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Monitor equipment performance and partner with Maintenance to address downtime, mechanical concerns, and production interruptions.
- Support CNC equipment operations, setup, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes as needed.
- Monitor product quality and ensure finished products meet established specifications and customer requirements.
- Identify and resolve production, quality, workflow, and equipment-related issues and implement practical corrective actions.
- Champion workplace safety by reinforcing safe work practices, addressing unsafe conditions, and conducting safety discussions with employees.
- Track production output, downtime, quality concerns, staffing, and employee performance and maintain accurate production records.
- Apply Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous-improvement principles to improve safety, organization, quality, efficiency, and workflow.
- Partner closely with Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, and plant leadership to resolve operational and employee-related concerns.
- Identify opportunities to improve team performance and develop employees for future leadership responsibilities.
- Provide leadership and operational support across production areas as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of production leadership, team-lead, or supervisory experience required.
- 6 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of manufacturing operations and production-floor leadership.
- Experience operating or supervising heavy manufacturing machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees, establish accountability, coach performance, and resolve production and workplace issues.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, productivity, and continuous-improvement practices.
- CNC machine operation, setup, troubleshooting, or programming knowledge is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing, 5S, or related continuous-improvement experience is preferred.
- Millwork, door manufacturing, woodworking, or building-products experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication, organization, planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and production-reporting systems.
- Ability to successfully lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adjust to changing production priorities.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work safely around operating manufacturing equipment.
