Position Summary
The Robotic Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing robotic systems used in manufacturing operations. This role ensures that robotic equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Setup
- Assemble, install, and configure robotic systems and automation equipment.
- Perform initial testing and calibration to ensure proper functionality.
- Maintenance & Repair
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on robotic systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
- Replace defective parts and update system components as needed.
- Troubleshooting & Support
- Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
- Work with engineers and production staff to resolve technical issues.
- Document all repairs, adjustments, and maintenance activities.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure robotic systems meet OSHA and company safety standards.
- Train operators and team members on safe use of robotic equipment.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to equipment handling.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency.
- Assist in implementing new automation technologies.
- Support process improvement initiatives across manufacturing lines.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2 years of experience working with robotic systems in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and robotic programming languages.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, bending, and working in confined spaces as required.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
