What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim Sr. Revenue Accountant position at StevenDouglas?
StevenDouglas is partnering with a software company in their search for an Interim Sr. Revenue Accountant. This is a long term opportunity expected to go through the end of the year and would work in office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
- Review contracts and assess revenue impact under ASC 606 (with supervision)
- Prepare and book journal entries
- Support account reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Assist with reprocessing 18 periods of revenue data
- Work within NetSuite and support system/process improvements
- Act as a point of contact for functional teams (intermediate between groups)
- Partner with Sales and cross-functional teams during quarter-end to review transactions and ensure accuracy
- Support audit requests and documentation
- Mentor and support junior team members as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA a plus)
- 4–6 years of experience (audit/public accounting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Aptitude RevStream experience is a plus
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Comfortable working overtime during close and quarter-end
- Strong communication skills across teams and time zones
