Corporate Staff Accountant

StevenDouglas Project & Interim Services is hiring an Interim Staff Accountant in Miami, Florida!

We are seeking an experienced Interim Staff Accountant to support our clients accounting team during a period of increased workload. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to step into a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. This role is suitable for a high-performing Staff Accountant or a Senior Accountant capable of handling core accounting functions independently.

Responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliations — Prepare, review, and resolve variances across multiple bank accounts.
• Journal Entries — Create, review, and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Month-End Close — Support and execute close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting tasks.
• Cash Flow Monitoring — Track daily cash activity, support cash forecasting, and ensure timely communication of cash needs.
• General Ledger Maintenance — Assist with account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Process Support — Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience (Staff or Senior Accountant level).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle—customize as needed).
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
