What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Stevanato Group?
Stevanato Group is looking for a Production Manager to lead multiple production departments within our Fishers, IN facility. This role oversees the performance of several production areas at once, sets strategy in partnership with plant leadership, and manages the Production Leaders who report to this position.
Responsibilities
Production Strategy and Execution
- Owns production output across multiple departments, including volume, cost, mix, quality, and timing, against budget and the broader industrial plan. Sets and cascades continuous improvement priorities across departments, driving standardization between production areas. Partners cross functionally to resolve systemic issues, reduce complaints, and expand capacity and capability across the site.
Team Leadership
- Manages and develops a team of Production Leaders, including coaching, career development, and succession planning. Drives engagement and accountability across the broader production workforce.
Quality and Compliance
- Owns major quality events, non-conformities, CAPAs, and change controls across assigned departments, with final approval authority before escalation. Ensures QMS documentation stays current across all areas of responsibility.
HSE
- Owns HSE performance and standards across multiple departments, ensuring consistent implementation and safety outcomes site-wide.
Budget and Reporting
- Owns the consolidated budget across assigned departments, flagging risks and requirements to plant leadership. Reports site-wide production performance (time, volume, mix, quality, cost) to the Plant Director, and reviews and approves departmental-level reporting from Production Leaders.
Stakeholder Relationships
- Represents production in front of customers, auditors, and vendors alongside plant leadership. Serves as an escalation point across Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, HSE, and other core teams.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in the pharma or regulated manufacturing sector, including experience managing multiple production departments or a large industrial operation.
- Prior experience managing other managers or leads.
- Strong working knowledge of cGMP, ISO, and PDMA standards.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with familiarity managing KPIs such as OEE, scrap, compliance rate, and cost of poor quality.
